Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a physical store I can visit?
We are an online-only store at this time. In 2019, we operated a temporary pop-up retail shop on Lygon Street in Carlton, Melbourne, but now we operate solely online. This means our entire range is available on our website 24/7 - you can browse our store whenever you visit us!
Where are your artworks produced?
All of our designs are created in-house and made to order right here in Melbourne, Australia. Each artwork is available either as a fine art print on paper (unframed or framed) or a stretched canvas print. Every piece is custom-printed and, if applicable, framed by our team, using high-quality materials so you get the perfect artwork for your space.
Do you sell gift cards or vouchers?
Yes, we offer digital gift cards. They are delivered instantly to your email and never expire, making them a great gift when you want someone to choose an artwork they love.
I’m not sure what to choose. Do you offer any art styling advice or inspiration?
Absolutely. We know our collection is extensive, so we’ve created resources to help you find the right piece. You can explore our Shop the Look page to see curated combinations of artworks, or check our Instagram gallery to view real-life styling examples of our prints in homes.
If you need further guidance, we offer complimentary styling assistance. Email us or fill out the form in the Free Styling Service page, and we’ll get back to you with personalised advice!
Ordering & Shipping
How long will it take to receive my order?
Because each artwork is custom printed (and framed, if applicable), the production time can vary.
-
Unframed art prints on paper usually take about 1-3 business days for production and dispatch from our Melbourne warehouse.
-
Framed prints and canvases typically take 1-2 weeks, depending on the size, to print, frame, and prepare before shipping out.
We appreciate your patience, as this process ensures you receive a high-quality piece that’s built to last.
Transit and delivery times will depend on your location and the courier, but we strive to get your art to you as quickly as possible. Please allow 2-5 business days for delivery to metro areas, and 5-10 business days for regional or remote areas. If you would like to get the estimated transit time for your post code, please contact our customer service team.
For international orders, please allow roughly 10–14 business days from the date of dispatch for delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship certain products internationally. From our Australian website, we can send unframed prints on paper (rolled safely in a tube) to customers worldwide. However, we generally cannot ship framed prints or stretched canvases internationally due to their size and the risk of damage in transit.
If you are in the United States or Canada, we have a separate online store and production facility that can fulfill orders locally for those countries.
Keep in mind that any customs or import duties for overseas shipments are the sole responsibility of the customer.
Will I receive a tracking number for my order?
Once your order has been produced and dispatched, we will email you with the tracking number and the courier details. You can also find your tracking information by logging into your account on our website and checking your order status.
If you did not receive a shipping notification email or have issues tracking your order, just let us know and we’ll be happy to assist you.
Can I change or cancel my order after I’ve placed it?
We process orders as quickly as possible, so changes or cancellations are not guaranteed once production begins. If you realise you need to make changes, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to accommodate your request if your print has not yet gone into production or been dispatched. This is especially important for custom prints, which move into production very quickly.
Please understand that if your order is already being printed/framed or has been shipped, we cannot alter or cancel it. We recommend that you double-check your order details at checkout and contact us promptly with any concerns.
If you need to change your shipping address, please reach out as soon as possible so we can get it corrected before the order ships. Please note that redirecting the delivery, once it is in transit, may incur additional fees.
Can I use more than one promo code on my order?
No, our checkout system will only accept one promo code per order. Please choose the promo code that gives you the best deal before you complete your purchase. Once an order is placed, we cannot add a promo code retroactively or combine multiple discounts. If you have any questions about a promo code, feel free to contact us before placing your order and we’ll be happy to help.
What payment methods can I use?
We accept all major credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard, as well as digital wallets like PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. You can also take advantage of interest-free financing through our “buy now, pay later” partners: AfterPay and ZipPay.
All available options will be clearly shown to you upon checkout.
What happens if my art arrives damaged, or if I change my mind?
That’s a great question, as we handle those situations differently! Because your artwork is custom-made just for you, we are generally unable to offer a refund for a simple change of mind once production begins. Please reach out with any questions before purchasing, and we’ll be happy to guide you to the most suitable artwork for your space.
However, if your artwork arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, we promise to make things right. Please email enquiries@theprintemporium.com.au within 24 hours of delivery with photos of the item, packaging and/or original carton/tube, including a clear description of the issue. We will arrange a replacement or refund according to our policy.
Do you offer a product warranty?
We stand behind the quality of our work and are committed to the Australian Consumer & Competition Act. We offer a 2-year warranty, from the date of purchase, against manufacturing defects.

Hanging & Care
How do I flatten and frame an unframed print?
Our unframed prints are shipped rolled in a tube for protection, so they will need to be flattened before framing. We recommend the following steps:
-
Remove the print from the tube, handling it with clean hands or gloves to avoid smudges.
-
Lay the print flat on a clean surface. Place a clean sheet or cloth both underneath and on top of the print. Then add some flat, heavy objects (such as books) on top to help the print relax. Leave it like this for a day or so.
-
Once the print has flattened out, it’s ready to frame. You can insert it into a ready-made frame of the corresponding size, making sure the print sits snugly (ideally right up against the glass). Alternatively, you can take the print to a professional framer who can mount and frame it for you.
Our print dimensions are compatible with many standard frame sizes available at popular retailers (IKEA, Adairs, Freedom, Officeworks, Kmart), making it easier to find a suitable frame. If you need advice on frame sizing or the weight of a framed piece, feel free to contact us.
How do I hang a framed print or canvas?
All our framed prints and stretched canvases come with a hanging wire securely attached, meaning your artwork is ready to hang straight out of the box. You will simply need an appropriate wall hook or hanger to complete the installation.
For smaller pieces, you could even use removable wall adhesive hooks, like 3M Command hooks, to avoid putting holes in the wall. Each framed piece is packaged in a sturdy carton to ensure it arrives safely.
When hanging, always ensure the hook or wall anchor you use can support the weight of the artwork. If you’re unsure about the weight or the best hanging method for a particular size, feel free to reach out. We’re always here to help with any specifics.
How do I care for my art prints and canvases?
Our artworks are low-maintenance, but a little care will keep them looking their best:
-
Framed Art Prints: Simply dust the frame and wipe the plexiglass gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or glass cleaners as they can damage the plexiglass or the print. Ensure you do not place your prints in direct sunlight to prevent any fading over time.
-
Canvas Prints: These can be dusted or lightly wiped with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or chemicals on the printed surface. As with framed prints, keep canvases out of prolonged direct sunlight to ensure the colours stay vibrant.
